Colored filters allow only certain colors to shine through. Astronomers use this quality of filters to read heat signatures of stars, which helps them to determine the age of a star and a star's distance from earth. What colors do you expect the green filter to filter out? Make your guess, play the movie, and see if you are right!
Blue filters block out everything but the blue bands of the spectrum.
