Special classes for expectant families are offered at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Early registration is recommended, and advance payment is required for classes requiring tuition. We offer a specially priced package of classes which includes Lamaze, infant care, breastfeeding and a birth room tour for $100.

MATERNITY UNIT TOUR
Each month we offer three free tours of our family-centered maternity unit including labor and delivery, newborn nursery, and post-partum rooms.

INFANT CPR & SAFETY

LAMAZE CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION
Over one weekend a month, we offer our complete Lamaze childbirth preparation classes. We also offer a refresher course. We suggest that the expectant mother and her helper complete the classes at least a month prior to her due date. All instructors are ASPO Certified Childbirth Educators.

INFANT CARE FOR EXPECTANT PARENTS
In this class, a pediatrician and a nurse explain how to provide basic physical and emotional care of the newborn and young infant. They also discuss growth milestones and general safety issues.
